Random Dialogue

Okay, okay. I know. First week having a weblog and I miss three days.
I wish I could show you what I am working on, but giving out access to it would kind of defeat the purpose of requiring a login to get there. Y’see, this quarter (period of 10 weeks) I’m doing an internship with my boss. Fun how that works. I’m scripting out a work order system to go behind the administration login on the Restech web site. This way we’ll have call tracking stuff going on. Much more sophisticated than the Excel spreadsheet we currently use.

And by use I mean “We enter stuff in and then delete it when we close the call”. No records there at all. Very sad.
Anyway, it’s going great! I’m having lots of fun, learning a lot, and accomplishing stuff like crazy. Makes ya feel good to be alive.
What an episode of The X-Files last night, huh? I swear, it’s so been worth watching this show for 8 years to see those two characters interact like that. “Sigh”.

Okay, if you (yeah, “you”) are reading this, then know this…right now, I’m nocturnal. Sooo, 3 am PST is “the evening” for me, and is likely when I’ll be updating ye olde web log.
Worked (wee), watched an RA friend of mine be frustrated by a party. I hate people. Ever mentioned that? Hate em. Got down to much interface scripting for the work order system I’m doing for me work. That was lots of fun. It’s been forever since I had a fun project to sink my teeth into.
Also, got a box from my fine mother, containing the bulk of my Shadowrun books. Mmmmm….Tir Na Nog. Found out there is a flippin’ France sourcebook! Gosh I love that game.

I’m late in getting this up because I was so busy on Wednesday. Whoo.
A morning of planning out the php work order system followed by a cordial restech meeting, StarCraft with the Matts, and then dinner at Red Robin with Matt, Gabe, and Jason. Then I wandered up to the mysql database and created the backend for the work order system. Tomorrow I’ll start with the interface. I’m probably going to delay the promised continuing of the work on “this” web page until the weekend, as I work tomorrow night, and will not get all that much done. Friday is Zim day, and I will hopefully spend the day finishing up the work order front page.

Finally! After much hemming and hawing, I redo this web site. Thank goodness. It’s 3 in the morning, PST, so I’m not going to say much at this point, but let it be known I intend to keep this web log up to date, and continue to update and add to the site, now that I have some sort of cohesive plan. Thanks in advance to Jukka Rajala, whom I contacted to make sure that using this “wonderful” theme is okay. If he says no, I don’t know what I’m going to do.

Wharg. I hate my body. Well…no, okay, I don’t hate it. It’d be pretty lonely as a non-corporeal entity. But the demands it makes. Once again, I find myself sleeping through the alarm, and then four hours more. Waking up at two in the afternoon, indeed. Foo.

Now, granted, it’s not like I have a class I need to be at right now. I’m doing an internship, wherein I am to do some php scripting, and make the scripts into a happy fun fun work order system for the folks I work with. The reason I’ve been sleeping so late … lately is because I’ve been up until three pounding out php. Or, like last night, working on this here web page.

Speaking of which, much much more is in the offing. I will actually get stuff I’ve written up, split “that” category into more categories, make a “key” so people can understand what the hell those little symbols mean, make some more links to other stuff, put up my resume… I’m actually kind of excited about having a functional, attractive web page. More later, once I’ve…you know, been awake.

Update
Wow. Buffy and Angel were quite good tonight. Seeing David Boreanaz “bop” was highly amusing. More work on the site. The header and footer are now php includes, so I don’t have to keep changing them on “every” page whenever I change something in either.

Tomorrow I have to attend the Restech weekly meeting. Wee. I expect to begin work on the work order system project I have occupying my time this quarter. And more work on the web site, including my resume and more information about the site itself (the about link in the footer) should show up soon.
