New Apartment Smell

February 27, 2004

Yesterday, Katie and I saw what our new apartment is going to look like. Specifically, it will look like this. It has a fireplace, a whirlpool tub (she almost knocked me down over that), a lovely kitchen, and a walk-in closet. Oh, and side-by side full sized washer/dryer. I will enjoy that change a lot. It’s more than big enough for us, and we will be the first tenants. We’re going to be living in the new, fourth building being built on the Nantucket Property. It’s going to have slightly different carpeting (a darker, mocha color) along with nicer tile in the kitchen and bathroom and a different counter-top than the one we have. So as of August first we will be residents of (address removed). Rawk.

Amusements with Alan this evening, I think, and then more skating tomorrow mebbe.

I normally think the sci-fi wire news is painful, but this hurts in a secret hole in my heart. owie.

There are Gardens of Olives?

February 26, 2004

Well, I didn’t get that much sleep, but things are pretty good just the same.

I have been sickish for the past two days, and out of work. I’m back today, and feeling about a hundred percent better.

Managed to get out and see my aunts yesterday for dinner (with Katie, who is also sick). It was my aunt Norine’s birthday recently, so we hit the Olive Garden. Tonight Katie and I are taking a look at some one-bedrooms at Nantucket.

We have been helped through the sickness by the loving embrace of Everquest. I have been so twitching for a MMOG lately that finally I couldn’t stand it any more. We are now up to level 12, and enjoying Blackburrow inordinately.

This weekend may see some more skating. Maybe this time I’ll remember my camera.

Speaking of EQ, this is simply amazing.

As is this, wherein Wil states a most excellent statement about his beliefs.

Then, I thought I would share this with you. One of my guildies has been a photobug during his excursions into FFXI. Very fun.

Frickin’ Rastas

February 25, 2004

I’m back.

Don’t let the Jamaicans keep you down.

The rest of the site will be up ASAP.

Updates to follow.

All the databases are moved over, as is the whole site. My code has shown itself to be nicely portable, so yay for me not being dumb. The Gallery is installed with the latest version, and all the photos are there. That is one incredibly impressive package.

I’m all in all an extremely happy Michael.

More on this after I get some sleep.

Better Than The Other Kind

February 23, 2004

Last week has thrown my whole brainstem out of whack.

Last night was a very short game because my head and guts felt ready to rip me asunder, and today I felt the need to use my editorial for a trifling. A Brain Dump, as it were.

Grar. I hope things make more sense tomorrow.

They Didn’t Wear Kilts

February 20, 2004

Leahy was pretty good.

Some of their stuff was a bit folksy for me, but I dug the celtic tunes a whole bunch. Generally a really good evening.

When we got home I finally put up some pics I’ve been meaning to, and collated some stuff into a Madison Gallery underneath the Places Album. That particular gallery is likely to get much larger as time goes by, as I love taking pictures of my hometown, and it’s a good excuse to go places and see things.

This has been an overwhelmingly tiring and stressful week. I am very very glad that it’s ending. And ending pretty well, evidently, as my hard work here at DSC appears to have paid off, at least in accolades from humans. Always nice to be appreciated.

Dogs and Truman

February 19, 2004

Yesterday was pretty quiet. Definately not log-worthy.

This morning Katie and I met up to talk to the travel agent I’ve been talking to about our trip in May. She, unfortunately, had just gotten news of a death in her family and seemed pretty shaken. So we rescheduled for the week after next. I hope she’s okay. Instead of talking about food at Disneyworld we just went and had food. More Dog Eat Dog, if you must know.

Tonight we’re headed to a show at the Civic Center. Leahy is a group I’ve never really heard before, but they sound interesting. I’ll probably get some shots of the concert to show you later.

Tomorrow we’re over to Alan’s for Truman Show and Sixth Sense, and then Saturday we’re going to go ice skating. I fear for my life (and kidneys).

Quiet week, this. I’m not sure I like it. But whatchoo gonna do? At least the weather is nicer.

Dem Dum Demos

February 17, 2004

Hey there!

It’s democratic primary day! If you’re a dem and you haven’t voted yet, go do it! If you’re wondering, Dean, and No on DeJope.

After I voted I went over to Edgewood H.S., and saw Mr. Kevin Tahaney. Mr. Tahaney (who I apologize to if I am spelling his last name wrong) was my most excellent religion teacher while in HS. We chewed the fat and he complimented my mom. Then I stole Alan from the CS department and forced him to have lunch with me.

All in all, I had a good lunch hour and half.

Tonight I’m all about the errands. The library, Pegasus Games, grocery store. I plan on doing reading only at the Peg. The End of Days books are coming out for the World of Darkness, and I feel inclined to take a look if for no other reason than nostalgia value.
