Air America

August 31, 2004

So I’m driving to work this morning, and instead of the usual NPR I listen to I hopped onto 92.1 hoping to hear something halfway decent and at least 9 years old. Happily, I tune into some Clash.

They finish all too soon, and I hear an announcement I’ve heard once or twice on 92.1 in the last few days. “The Mix” is going off the air. They tell folks to listen to 104.1 for music like was on the mix. (Because Clear Channel owns both of them and wants to make sure to retain listenership.)

This one, though, has patriotic music behind it. The add continues instead of finishing. “In it’s place this weekend will be a new voice for change, liberty, and a new hope for a new century. Coming this weekend to Madison - Air America!”

Abbyday!

August 27, 2004

Abby’s Birthday Party is tonight!

Happy birthday Abbyjail!

Katie’s getting a ride from Ben to this side of town, as I have to stay late today. And then tomorrow (which you may note is a Saturday) I am also working. It’s only around an hour or two, but still….

Need to make up for my absence last week, though. This weekend I also have to ensconce myself hip-deep in contract work. I spent the week in a sleep-depped haze, and I’m going to pay for it this weekend. I don’t even want to think what I’m going to be like on Monday.

The DnD plastic minis are starting to grow on me. I’m considering investing in some. Cuz you know, who can turn down this face?

Wild And Crazy Season

August 25, 2004

This has been the absolute craziest summer I think I’ve ever had. I was just perusing my bio, and looking at all the stuff that’s happened since the beginning of this summer. Bachelor Party, Origins, Wedding, Moving, GenCon, new freelance work, old freelance work fleeing, finishing up with book work, and now more possibilities of cooltaculartide that will add to my already occupied life. Whooo..

I’m looking forward to the Fall, if only so that I can catch my breath. Kinda. The only thing I know that’s going on that I will mention right now is that I’m restarting the Cormyr game on September 5th. I got a bunch of on-the-job training at GenCon, and I think my game will be stronger for it.

Monday I really wanted to come to work, but umm…not so much. Sooo tired. I was in yesterday though. After work did some unwinding and napping, and then assisted the Giacomini’s with their new PC. Nothing much planned for tonight, I don’t think, but tomorrow I’m doing a bunch of troubleshooting and contract work. Excitement. Friday is Abby’s birthday party at Jabbyville. More of the whole “seeing people” thing. Yay!

Right now I’m trying not to fall asleep at work. Should have a writeup for this year’s convention (ala the last one) up by Sunday. I’m also plotting out some material to offer to Alan as addendums to his GenCon Survival Guide
