A blast from the past rises again. Let’s Kill to be published by Atlas Games. Who would have thought?

I sometimes take an abysmally long time to write things. The writeup of our trip last spring to Walt Disney World is such an item.
I’ve decided to go ahead and put up what I have so far. Consider it a work in progress.
Speaking of Keyboard puttering, expect a review next Monday.

Some of my friends have been improving their internet presences of late, and I thought I’d do some linking.
Pete Keller has begin blogging his ^nix based experiences at Angry Unix Programmer.
Brian’s getting fief.org into shape, and some of his work is getting coherent. Specifically his restaurant reviews and budding Life of a Sysadmin blog are worth checking out.
Ben’s still getting his act together, but who needs an excuse to go to Monkeysushi.net?

Urrrrrgh.
Okay, not urgh. I actually am feeling humanish at this point. Nigh on to 85%. Rough weekend though. I’ll spare you the gorey details.
Suffice it to say that my Xbox kept me company during the long hours of a very dismal Saturday. The old skool flavours of Knights of the Old Republic, Burnout 3, and Crimson Skies allowed me to ignore the Warlock DoTs working their way through my innards.
Sunday I was feeling lucid enough to attempt human interaction, and ventured forth with Katie to Vin Santo for a belated happy day celebration of Vivian’s birth. Good food and mumbled conversations led to some more mumbling at Alan’s place.
Today the Girl manifested the plague I’d been spreading around on Friday and Saturday, and is now busily casting dispels on herself in an attempt to stem the tide. If her disease goes similar to my own she should be up and about for her weekly Wednesday reading to the youngin’s. She’s really hoping she will be, because this is the last one she’ll be able to do before they break for Summer. I just looked over at her and she said “Oh…there’s blood coming out of both sides of my nose now. Neat!”
Her enthusiasm really should be looked at. If there are any Paladins in our neighborhood with a Remove Disease for the week they haven’t used yet, I can pay.

Well, I managed to push myself hard enough this week that I’ve fallen ill. I haven’t been sick since I tripped the Slash fantastic a few months ago, but it’s been pretty bad. I got steadily worse as the day went on, but managed to stay lucid enough to finish up my mainpage shift in good form. I think. The bin was slow as hell today, so I know some of the stories weren’t of the quality I usually aim for. On the other hand, I didn’t dupe anything. I think.
Anyway, E3 finished up today, without really so much as a whimper from the Friday articles. Most of the major gaming sites blew their loads Wednesday and Thursday, and I think most of the journos out West were so burned out from the rest of the week that they were coasting there way to the show’s end.
For me, personally, I was no where near as frustrated not being there as I thought I would be. I thought for sure I was going to spend the week going “Gaw, I could be there doing this, this, and this..” While I did have some of that, I handled it pretty well. My hope is that I’ll make it next year, and get a chance to play some of the launch titles for these consoles that right now are just theory. By next year at the very least the 360 and the PS3 will likely be out, and the PS3 will almost certainly still be in its launch window. Should be fun.
The big things that caught my eye this week went up on Slashdot, so if you’re wondering what I liked this week just check out my coverage. The two things that intrigued me the most are the ones the ones I’ll be waiting a long time to see: FFXI on the 360 and the new RPGs from Mistwalker studios. Here’s hoping they do more than just make FFXI high resolution. New textures would be awesome, and the game is just about due time-wise.

It’s been a somewhat eventful week. Aside from the E3 hoopla, my days have been quite full. Monday evening folks came over to watch the Clone War series, in preperation for Revenge of the Sith. If Gennedy is in charge of the ongoing cartoon series Lucas is planning, I will be well pleased.
Tuesday’s game was somewhat frustrating, as traveling through the wilderness proved to be a grueling experience. Still love those third level spells, though.
Yesterday, of course, was quite busy. Aside from oodles of E3 posts, we had our regular poker night. I’m pleased to relate that I finally had a really “on” night, and I came out almost 200 up from my starting seed. This places me in 5th place by average, 4th by overall earnings. After poker we partook in some Denny’s food(tm) and then enjoyed the experience of standing in line in the rain waiting for Revenge of the Sith.
Commentary on the movie later, but suffice it to say that I enjoyed it. Better than Episodes I and II, probably on par for me with Return of the Jedi. (If you’re curious, and I know you are, that would make my opinion on the Star Wars saga lay out thusly, from most to least enjoyed: ESB, ANH, RotJ, RotS, AotC, tPM)
Today, then, I’m ridiculously tired. I spent the morning working, trying to stay awake, and then caved into unconciousness around noon for a two hour nap. Hopefully that will hold me. Tonight we’re attending a go-away party for Terra, who is embarking on a two year excursion to the country of Zambia to participate in HIV/AIDs education for the local populace. For the record, Terra, you are teh rule. I know that I could never do something like that, and I completely respect you for doing so. We’ll miss you in August.

Brian Crecente over on the blog Kotaku regularly uses broad exaggerations in his pursuit of humor and hipness. In my personal opinion, tonight he went too far.
Over at the Nintendo press conference, Tina Woods was brought out to introduce the Nintendogs DS title. Crecente claims that this act not only makes her unprofessional, but a Nintenwhore.
Okay…here’s the thing….ducks are funny. Monkeys are funny.
This?
“Even if Wood, or G4, didnt get paid a penny for the little ad they ran up on stage, the fact that a person who holds herself up to be a journalist is helping to plug the products she covers is distasteful at best. It was sort of appropriate that the little affair wrapped up with Shigeru Miyamotos dog fucking Tina Woods. So now shes a Nintendo whore literally and figuratively.”
Not funny.
She’s not a journalist. She’s a media personality. She’s a pretty face to put in front of a camera, not fricking Woodward. She works on the same channel that forces Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler to hawk Gamefly.
And, you want to talk about glass houses? This is the man who made it sound like his “exclusive” coverage of the Xbox 360 announcement was the second coming of Christ.
No, it wasn’t probably the most proffesional thing she’s ever done, and it just proves that the line between media flack and journalist is hard to discern nowadays. Calling her a whore was dirty pool, and if Kotaku has any kind of sense it will issue her an apology for stepping over the line.
